Cybersecurity and Digital Identity Expert and Strategist, Mike Garcia, Joins Enhanced Voting as Vice President of Product & Strategy

Jacksonville, FL — Enhanced Voting, a leading national provider of election technology solutions, today announced that Mike Garcia has joined the company as Vice President of Product & Strategy. An economist and cybersecurity expert, Mike brings extensive experience in election security, identity standards, and product innovation to guide Enhanced Voting’s product roadmap and long-term strategy.

Mike has spent the past eight years advising election and technology organizations on cybersecurity strategy, policy, and solution implementation for both public and private entities. At the Center for Internet Security, he helped establish the Election Infrastructure Information Sharing and Analysis Center (EI-ISAC) and drafted CIS’s suite of election security best practices. At UC Berkeley, he chaired a Center for Security in Politics working group on the security of internet ballot return.

Previously, Mike led digital identity initiatives at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), where he set strategy, engaged with public- and private-sector partners, managed a portfolio of innovation grants, and served as both an author and executive sponsor of NIST Special Publication 800-63-3—the cornerstone guidance for digital authentication, identity proofing, and federation. He also served as a senior cybersecurity strategist at the Department of Homeland Security.

Mike holds a doctorate in Agricultural, Environmental, and Development Economics from The Ohio State University, with an emphasis in Information Security Economics and Resource Economics. He also earned an M.A. in Economics and an MBA from Ohio State, as well as a B.A. in Economics, B.S. in Computer Science, and B.S.Ed. in Education from the University of Dayton.
